FAQ

Do you have everything in stock?

In our online shop, you can see how much is still in stock by the product.

Do you have large quantities?

We have large quantities, but we are not a tile dealer who sells by the square metre. With us, you can buy smaller quantities.

In the online shop, you can see the minimum quantity per product that you can purchase.

Do you sell sample boards?

We do not sell sample boards because the difference in colour can often be different from batch to batch. In our opinion, this is then no longer a good reference and so we want to avoid disappointment. If you would like to see a colour first, you can always make an appointment to visit the shop or if this is not possible, you can best order the smallest quantity of the product.

How much material do I need?

You can use the button below to calculate how much you need.

Dimensions are listed with each product. If the tiles need cutting you will always have waste, count 5-10% extra.

Rather buy a bit more than too little.

As mentioned earlier, colours may vary from batch to batch. If you do fall short, stop in time and keep enough tiles left over so you can mix them with the newly ordered ones. This will prevent you from seeing big differences.

How much grout do I need?

You will need about 2kg per m2. This is calculated for a joint 2mm wide and 4mm deep.

Grouting instructions

Make sure the tiles are the right side up, namely some have a smooth side and a ribbed side. The nice smooth side is always up.

  • Let the work dry for 24 hours, then you can start grouting it.
  • Supplies: Tray, stirrer, old newspaper, rubber gloves, possibly grout spreader , sponge and an old dry rag. Fold open the newspaper and place your workpiece on it.
  • Grouting: Put the grout in a container and mix it with a little water. Don't put in too much water at once, but small bits all the time! Keep adding a little bit of water until it is a thick mayonnaise mixture. It takes a while for the water to mix with the powder, so be patient!!! Especially with small amounts of grout.

TIP: You can also mix half the grout with water first, so you can add the rest if it has become too thin anyway.

  • Sweep the grout well into the joint seams and use  the grout spreader or a sponge to give it a nice smooth finish.
  • After about 10min, remove the excess grout with an old dry cloth. After about 30min, repeat with an old dry and clean cloth. There may be a cement haze over the tiles, but no clumps of grout. These cannot be removed after the grout dries!
  • Let it dry for 24 hours.
  • Finish: Finish the work by cleaning it immediately bit of dish soap on a damp cloth wiped off any cement haze. Dried glue residue can be removed with a razor blade or your nails.

! NEVER THROW LEFTOVER GROUT IN THE SINK ! LET IT DRY AND THROW IT IN THE BIN.

Which glue should I use?

  • For indoors, you can use any kind of glue.
  • If it is for outdoors then you should note that it is moisture and frost resistant.
  • If you want to make a 3D object, it is better to use tile glue/paste or silicone glue, as it has a thick consistency that prevents the stones/tiles from slipping off the object and staying immediately in place.
  • If it is glass on glass and needs to be translucent, it is best to use silicone adhesive.

How do I remove tiles from paper and mesh?

You remove the tiles on paper by putting it in warm water. After a while, you can easily remove the tiles from the paper by hand.

Tiles on mesh are best pulled off by hand, if necessary put in cold water in advance.

Are the tiles heat-resistant?

Glass tiles are heat-resistant but make sure the adhesive is also heat-resistant.

Do I need to seal my mosaic work?

There is no need to seal your mosaic. Mapei's grout is water- and stain-resistant.
